Dr. Lose will offer an interactive presentation about how to gain greater
understanding and enjoyment from reading the Bible. This program is free
and open to the public. Refreshments and informal table conversation will
follow at the Chapel Commons. No registration is required.

Dr. Lose will offer a series of
three presentations developing on the "making sense of
scripture" theme from his Sept. 12 program. Intended for
rostered members of the synod, lay people are also welcome.
Reservations are required.
Registration is due Friday, Sept.
3. Cost is $25, which includes snacks and lunch. Late
registration or registration on the day of the event is $30.

From, Interpreting the Bible in Context, Determining Right From Wrong, The
Many Meanings of the Bible, and Devotional Bible Reading.

The life of
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, tragically cut short by his faithful opposition to
the Nazi regime in Germany, is a rich and complex puzzle. A devout
Lutheran with a passion for scientific discovery, Bonehoeffer was
committed to peace even as he planned Hitler's assassination. This course
presents lectures about his philosophies from six scholars around the
world, plus a final moving presentation from a Holocaust survivor.
