The Board of Ministry in Mission works to enhance and promote awareness of the mission and ministry of this church at home and abroad. Seven work groups have been formed to carry out the Board's goals, as outlined in the Northeastern Iowa Synod’s constitution (S11.01.03.b.):

• Ensure that resources are available to all congregations and Conferences for Cooperative Ministry of this synod to inform them of the church's and this synod's efforts to proclaim the Gospel and reach out to all people to bring them to faith in Christ;

• Conduct ministry with a global awareness consistent with the understanding of God as Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier of all;

• Serve in response to God's love to meet human needs, advocating dignity and justice for all people;

• Work for peace and reconciliation among the nations;

• Nurture its members in the word of God;

• Manifest the unity given to the people of God by joining with other Christians in prayer and action.
