Tawanda was born in Harare, Zimbabwe.
After graduating from high school at an Episcopalian boarding school in Zimbawe, he decided to attend Wartburg College in the United States. While attending Wartburg, became a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran in Waverly. He worked summers as a camp counselor at EWALU and
Although Tawanda received a BA in engineering, Tawanda realized he was called to be a pastor. He is now a student at Wartburg Theological Seminary, and he is serving his internship at St. Peter in Dubuque.
Between a scholarship from the ELCA Fund for Leaders and a grant from the H. George Anderson Fund for Leaders, Tawanda does not have to worry about tuition or other expenses while he is studying to become a pastor.
