The Northeastern Iowa Synod Fall Theological Conference is set for Oct. 17 -18 at the Best Western Plus Dubuque Hotel and Conference Center.
The conference will include presentations, worship service, devotions, and time with the Bishop, with the theme “Dare to Lead.” All active rostered ministers of the Northeastern Iowa Synod are invited to attend, as well as interns, CL, TEEM, and SAM students serving in the synod.
The Rev. Sarah Ciavarri will lead six sessions of the Dare to Lead program based on research by Dr. Brené Brown. The program focuses on helping people become braver in their leadership and personal life using four skill sets of courage.
Ciavarri is the founder and president of Level Up Leadership, LLC, a coaching, leadership consulting, and curriculum design firm. She is a professional certified coach through the International Coaching Federation and is a regular keynote speaker on leadership topics of resilience, burnout prevention, and crafting a life you love. Ciavarri is also the author of Finding our Way to the TRUTH: Seven Lies Leaders Believe and How to Let Them Go, published by Fortress Press.
Monday’s schedule begins at 10 a.m. with opening devotion and announcements and concludes with worship at 3:45 p.m. The conference resumes Tuesday at 9 a.m. and concludes at noon with closing devotion and a box lunch.
Registration is open through Sept. 15.
The conference registration fee is $80, which includes two lunches.
