Juneteenth Service of Repentance

The public is invited to a Juneteenth Service of Repentance set for 7 p.m. Monday, June 19, at St. Paul Lutheran, Mason City. Several area congregations have joined in planning this service to focus on the shared history of complicity in allowing racial injustice.
The 45-minute service will include a brass quintet, readings from scripture, a litany of confession and response, and hymns. A freewill offering will go toward a local community resource for social justice. This event ties in with the goals of the synod’s Racial Justice Advocacy Network.
