We are still in the midst of Lent, but it is not too soon to start planning for Vacation Bible School!
Hopefully by now you have taken your Action Guide out of the pile on your desk and made note of all the great resources in it.
One of those great resources is the new Vacation Bible School Program, “Who Is My Neighbor?”
Responding to the needs of our neighbors has always been a key vocation of the church. Martin Luther believed that service of the neighbor should be a priority for every person of faith. He wrote, “Therefore, we should be guided in all our works by this one thought alone ― that we may serve and benefit others in everything that is done, having nothing before our eyes except the need and advantage of the neighbor.”
In “Who Is My Neighbor?” kids will explore what this means
for themselves and for their community – by learning about neighbors in six parts of the globe over the five days.
The six countries that students will learn about are Malawi, Colombia, Rwanda, the United States, Central African Republic and Japan.
This program provides flexibility for scheduling including suggestions for games, skits, songs, snack recipes, conversation starters, story time, and directions for crafts and simulation stations.
