The 2022 Northeastern Iowa Synod Assembly will meet June 10-11 at Wartburg College, Waverly, with the theme “Better Together,” based on 1 Corinthians 12:12-13. Parts of the assembly will be available for viewing online; however, all voting will take place in person.
The two-day Assembly will start Friday at 7 p.m. with Bishop Kevin Jones preaching for the opening worship service, followed by orientation and social time.
Saturday’s activities begin at 8:30 a.m. with morning prayer, followed by the plenary session at 9 a.m. Other activities include synod business, workshops, ministry exhibits, lunch and closing worship.
Synod staff members will lead a “Getting to Know You” presentation. The Rev. Robin Brown, director of Congregational Generosity for the ELCA, will attend as the churchwide representative and will preach for the closing worship service on Saturday. Download the complete schedule.
Bring Welcome Boxes for Refugees

This year’s synod offering will be designated for the H. George Anderson Northeastern Iowa Synod Fund for Leaders and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.
