
Bishop Kevin Jones invites anyone interested to join him on a training bike ride to prepare for the Iowa Bishop’s Ride Against Hunger in RAGBRAI in July.
The training ride will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, in Bristow on the Rolling Prairie Trail.
Riders will go through Allison and on to Clarksville where they will stop for lunch (bring your own). Water and other refreshments will be provided in Clarksville. Riders will then bike back to Bristow.
This is a 26-mile round trip for people to do at their own pace. Riders can join in the entire trip or ride for just a portion. Please note: This ride will be cancelled in the event of rain.
Bishops Ride Against Hunger
The three Iowa ELCA bishops are teaming up to ride 50-plus miles each day in the 50th RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) to highlight anti-hunger ministries and raise $50,000 for ELCA World Hunger. RAGBRAI is set for July 22-29, 2023. Cycling enthusiasts are invited ride along with the bishops. People can also support the ride with pledges and donations to fight hunger.
