Bishop Kevin Jones and the Northeastern Iowa Synod Racial Justice Network invite ministers and congregational leaders to a book club Zoom with Pastor Kenneth Wheeler on Thursday, Feb. 22, 1 – 2:30 p.m.
Wheeler is a retired ordained Black pastor and former assistant to the bishop for the Milwaukee Area Synod, ELCA. Last year he wrote US: The Resurrection of American Terror, which tells his journey of being Black in America and in the ELCA.

He has served congregations in the Midwest and is a guest lecturer at Wartburg Theological Seminary on pastoral leadership in the 21st century.
Those planning to attend the Zoom should read Wheeler’s book ahead of time or listen to the audiobook of him reading his own memoir. The Zoom will include small and large group discussions, including with Bishop Jones. There is no cost to attend.
To register, call the synod office at 319-352-1414 or email Pastor Liz Bell, assistant to the Bishop. The Zoom link to join the meeting will be emailed to everyone who registers.
