ELCA rostered ministers, lay leaders and members are invited to a special online event to observe the 2025 National Day of Racial Healing.
Join us on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central time, for this free, online event presented by the ELCA in partnership with Augsburg Fortress Publishers. This educational event will feature worship, concurrent workshops, music and guided reflection with the voices of ELCA leaders of color. The synod office will be closed during this event so that synod staff can participate.
The lineup of workshops and speakers was designed to raise awareness of the need for racial healing and to inspire collective action toward building common ground for a more just and equitable world. The event will include a welcome by ELCA Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton, Purpose of the Day presented by Judith Roberts, Community Guidelines presented by Jennifer DeLeon, opening worship with guest preacher the Rev. Dr. Jacqui Lewis, and music by Ali Paris.
