A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy (AMOS) believes in the inherent dignity of each person, and every person’s ability to take action. We seek to channel individual action into a responsible and powerfully organized force for the common good. 1.) The Northeast Iowa regional AMOS gathering is Saturday, June 20th! We will continue deepening relationships across denominations and communities & exploring building an organization with the capacity to act on the pressures impacting local families!

2.) “Train the Trainer” Session to Lead AMOS presentations
- Thursday, April 30 11:00-1:30pm
- Trinity Episcopal Church in Waterloo (use main church entrance)
- Lunch provided.
This is for people who have been to an AMOS meeting and are willing to help co-lead presentations on AMOS/community organizing within organizations in their local community the coming months. During this “train the trainer”, we’ll work through script and FAQs together along with central Iowa AMOS leaders. If you haven’t yet, please let Courtney ([email protected]) know if you’re planning to attend– we’ll email materials in advance and plan lunch accordingly.
3.) IAF Organizing Training. 6 northeast Iowa community leaders just participated in 2-day intensive organizing training in Des Moines. Week-long national IAF training is July 7-14 at Denver University in Colorado. Contact Courtney ([email protected]) for more information.
4.) AMOS We the People Convention
