Our Mission
The Care for Creation Network is called to make peace between people and the rest of God’s creation. In partnership with the congregations of the Northeastern Iowa Synod, we:
- Affirm that care for creation is central to the life of God’s people.
- Encourage worship that celebrates God’s creation.
- Advocate education promoting understanding and stewardship of God’s earth.
- Practice good earth citizenship.
- Model disciplined and fruitful community lifestyle.

Earth Day Virtual Worship
April 23, 2023
Everyone is welcome to join an online Earth Day worship service hosted by Lutherans Restoring Creation on Sunday, April 23, 2023. The Rev. Dr. R. Guy Erwin will provide a creation-focused sermon based on the readings for the day.
Earth’s Climate Crisis Social Message Draft
The November 2021 ELCA Church Council authorized the development of an ELCA social message on “Earth’s Climate Crisis.” The draft social message is currently being edited in light of public feedback and will be presented to the ELCA Church Council for a vote this spring.
